Hazard Rating Decals use a numbered and colored coating system that is established by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The colors indicate the type of hazardous material and the numbers indicate how severe the hazard is. They are numbered 0-4, 0 meaning no special hazard and 4 meaning a severe or extreme hazard potential.
